Here are answers to a few questions we’re frequently asked.

Q – How do I prepare a fish to mount?

A – Freeze it whole in a plastic bag. Don’t gut it. Then bring it to Albrecht Taxidermy as soon as possible.

Q – I shot a deer and want it mounted, what should I do?

A – Bring the deer whole to Albrecht Taxidermy and we will cape off what’s needed on the deer.
We will wrap the exposed meat in a plastic bag for you ($30 charge to cape and wrap meat).

Q – If I kill a game bird such as a turkey, and want it mounted, what should I do?

A – Keep the feathers as smooth as possible. Bend the head and neck around the body and tuck beneath a wing. Freeze it whole in a plastic bag. Do not gut it. For small birds such as ducks and pheasants, place them in a nylon sock, then freeze in a plastic bag. Bring the frozen bird(s) to Albrecht Taxidermy.

Q – I found a roadkill animal and would like to have it mounted. What should I do?

A – Contact the DNR as soon as possible to get proper paperwork BEFORE bringing it to Albrecht Taxidermy.

Q – I found a dead hawk owl or a song bird, and want to have it mounted. What should I do?

A – There is no legal season on these birds. Albrecht Taxidermy cannot mount them.

Q – What is the price for a mount?

A – Albrecht Taxidermy & Archery provides high quality service at an excellent price. Please call for consultation.
